Tumbleweed Wild Chenin Blanc A refreshing style of Chenin Blanc with vibrant green apple flavours and a touch of white pepper. Bruce Jack Wines is made up of a small, dynamic team which aims to celebrate authenticity and provenance, not just in the wine they craft, but in everything they do. Head winemakers Bruce Jack and Marlize Beyers have worked together for over two decades, since 2002, and both have extensive experience in many winemaking regions around the world. Human culture started at the tip of Africa, despite it being ‘off the charts’, so it is fitting that something as culturally rooted as wine should thrive there, inspiring the ‘Off the Charts’ wine range, crafted from grape varieties and regions that are South Africa’s viticultural cornerstones. The labels draw inspiration from the untamed majesty of the wilderness and the symbolic Basotho blanket. In 2023, Bruce Jack featured for the fourth consecutive year in the World’s Most Admired Wine Brands, an accolade awarded by the Drinks International. VineyardThe vineyards are located in various locations within Swartland with its ‘American WildWest’ aspect on rolling rugged hills facing the sea, capturing the essence of thispioneering spirit. The area enjoys a Mediterranean type climate with mostly red deepsoils combined with some sandy ones. Vines are mainly trellised with some grown asbush vines and the grapes are hand harvested.WinemakingOnly free run juice is used from separators via gravity and the juice is settled viaflotation with plant based fining agents. The wine is then racked to stainless steel tanksand fermented to dryness using a selection of commercial yeasts while a portion is wildfermented at a cool 12- 15 degrees but malolactic is blocked. Racked and kept on finelees until bottling.Tasting NoteAromas of ripe quince, pear, and a touch of wildflower honey. The palate is crisp anddry, with vibrant acidity and flavours of green apple, citrus, and a hint of minerality.
