Tumbleweed Wild Sauvignon Blanc Grown in cooler Swartland, Elim and Overberg sites with maritime influence, thisSauvignon Blanc balances delicate green notes with tropical fruit and a hint ofminerality. The vineyards are located in various locations within Swartland with its‘American Wild West’ aspect on rolling rugged hills facing the sea, capturing theessence of this pioneering spirit . The area enjoys a Mediterranean type climate withmostly red deep soils combined with some sandy ones. Vines are mainly trellised withsome grown as bush vines and the grapes are hand harvested.WinemakingOnly free run juice is used from separators via gravity and the juice is settled viaflotation with plant based fining agents. The wine is then racked to stainless steel tanksand fermented to dryness using a selection of commercial yeasts at a cool 12- 15degrees but malolactic is blocked. Racked and kept on fine lees until bottling. The labels draw inspiration from the untamed majesty of the wilderness and the symbolic Basotho blanket.
